Unless you have it synced up to a Mac with Time Machine!
1. I downloaded a couple movies on my Apple TV.
2. My Apple TV’s hard drive contains NO movies. ALL my movies are (were) on a 500 gig drive in a XP box that is on 24/7. It has iTunes open and the iTunes library is (was) pointed to this 2nd 500 gig HD in the PC.
3. Buy movies on the Apple TV, they transfer off the Apple TV HD to the HD that is (was) streaming to the Apple TV.
4. XP Box died, I pulled out 500 gig HD, put into external dock, its dead too!
5. I open my Mac, open iTunes, say “Check for Downloads” to grab the movies I had purchased. Nope, all available downloads are downloaded. Make sure to backup etc, etc.
So, once you say “purchase” thats it, Apple does not let you “re” download stuff you’ve lost due to hardware failure.
Have to go, re-buying the movies I already bought… on my MAC, so Time Machine will back them up!
